Unit
1) We study each planet.
2) We do a blast off daily at calendar time - counting backwards from a number between 5-20 (this changes daily). The children will name a planet each day that they will travel to.
3) Make space helmets. I made a pattern and cut a hole in the middle for the face. We stapled a sentence strip to the helmet and added decals.
4) Have a space camp. Make moon juice & moon cookies, paint space rocks with glow in the dark paint. Set up the gym with craters (hoola hoops), mats, balance beam etc. for a spacewalk.
